Ok folks, just need to put to rest some common misconceptions about the Chengdu J-20. I won’t defend the fact that the Chinese do their fare share of reverse engineering and copying foreign technology however, I got to put an end to the idea that the J-20 is in any way a copy of the F-22 Raptor. It’s definitely somewhat of a copy but not of the F-22. The J-20 is a copy of the Russian Mig 1.44 adapted for LO design and modern systems. Pictured here is the J-20 and F-22 which clearly have a completely different configuration.
